This loop starts in Aÿ, but you can choose the town that suits you best depending on your preferences or accommodation. Over 72 km, the route alternates between vineyards, picturesque villages, and exceptional panoramas, giving you time to savor each stage, enjoy gourmet breaks, and fully experience the Champagne region.

A cycling getaway in the heart of the Champagne vineyards
Let yourself be guided by a cycling adventure that begins in Aÿ-Champagne , a charming small town nestled in the heart of the vineyards. From the very first pedal strokes, you'll cycle through its enchanting narrow streets, lined with champagne houses boasting typical facades, before reaching the hillsides. Here, the landscapes come alive with the rhythm of nature: the scent of the vines, the birdsong, and the surrounding tranquility invite you to disconnect.

Between hillsides and exceptional panoramas
Your route then takes you through landscapes. The villages of Mutigny and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ offer lovely views of the vineyards and the Marne Valley. The climb to Notre-Dame du Gruguet is a highlight: the effort is richly rewarded by a breathtaking panorama of the prestigious vineyards.
A peaceful break by the water
After the heights, the route becomes gentler and follows the cycle path V52 along the canal.
The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, punctuated by the reflections of the water and the surrounding nature.
You will first pass through Mareuil-sur-Aÿ , then Bisseuil and Tours-sur-Marne , three villages located along the canal.
The route then continues towards Val de Livre , which allows you to admire the landscapes, then towards Fontaine-sur-Aÿ , a bucolic village.
You finally reach Ambonnay and Bouzy , known for their great wines, before ending up in Avenay-Val-d'Or , where the landscape gradually opens up to the valley.

A nature immersion
The route continues through the heart of the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park, between shady forests and more rugged terrain. The villages of Germaine, Saint-Imoges, and Nanteuil-la-Forêt offer an peaceful atmosphere. Then, as you approach Hautvillers , the historic birthplace of Champagne and the village of Dom Pierre Pérignon, the vineyards reappear. Its narrow streets reveal the history of this iconic village, which is closely linked to that of the entire region

A triumphant finale
The final section of the route offers a pleasant descent into the valley, followed by a final climb to Champillon . There, an exceptional panorama over the Marne Valley brings the day to a close. All that remains is to return at a leisurely pace to Aÿ-Champagne , the starting point of this loop, via Dizy .
This loop offers a complete and immersive experience, ideal for discovering Champagne in a different way, at the pace of a bicycle, between nature, heritage and the art of living.
